We are seeking a pharmacist, medical scientist with pharmacology major, or other health professional with knowledge and skills related to pharmacology to join our friendly and dynamic Victorian Poisons Information Centre (VPIC) team to provide information and advice to members of the public and medical professionals in cases of poisoning, suspected poisoning, overdose, mistakes with medicines and envenomation.
No prior experience in providing poisons information is required. Training will be provided. Experience working in a clinical setting, especially an emergency or intensive care unit, would be desirable.
The appointment involves working day shifts, evening shifts and occasional night shifts, depending on operational requirements.
The position is Grade 2 or equivalent. Grade 3 appointment may be considered for a suitably experienced candidate.
The position is part-time (approximately 28 hours per week, negotiable).
