The Department of Pharmacy is looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic pharmacist with excellent communication skills and relevant clinical knowledge to provide exceptional pharmaceutical care to our adult liver transplant and surgical patients.

About the role
A full time, permanent position is available for a Senior Clinical Pharmacist within our Liver and Surgical service. You will be responsible for the delivery and on-going development of a quality clinical pharmacy service to the New Zealand Liver Transplant Unit and another surgical unit as part of the clinical pharmacy service at Auckland City Hospital. You will work closely with clinicians, including regular attendance on our Liver Transplant consultant-led ward round, to provide quality patient care. You will have the opportunity to develop your educating skills through the provision of teaching and training of pharmacists, interns and externs.

About the department
Our Pharmacy department is an innovative and exciting place to work. We employ over 100 staff including those working within two retail pharmacies, Aseptic Production Unit and a flagship inpatient service. We serve over 1200 inpatient beds. Our guiding principle is to put the patient first in everything we do. Our award winning and growing clinical pharmacy service has over 40 pharmacists working across both secondary and tertiary level services. We have a robust service strategy which ensures that our staff are continuingly driving to work at the top of their scope and pushing the boundaries of clinical pharmacy practice. About you
As the ideal person for this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:

• Be a registered Pharmacist, or be eligible for registration as a Pharmacist, with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand. For details visit:
• At least three to five years of clinical pharmacy experience with two to three years of recent Liver Transplant experience desirable.
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills are essential
• Ability to develop close working relationships and work in a bicultural environment
• Pro-active and can-do approach with the ability to be flexible and work autonomously as well as in a team
• Demonstrate drive, enthusiasm and initiative
• A postgraduate clinical qualification is desirable
