What You Will Be Doing
• Provide clinical leadership and specialised advice regarding antimicrobial use for patients receiving complex pharmacological treatments or not responding to established treatment regimes.
• Support effective antimicrobial stewardship by developing effective policy and clinical practice guidelines
• Supervise and mentor rotational pharmacy staff participating in antimicrobial stewardship activities
• Participate in research and quality improvement activities associated with antimicrobial stewardship
What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
Essential Criteria
• Full Pharmacy Board of Australia (AHPRA) registration with no restrictions to the scope of practice, or appropriate pharmaceutical qualification eligible for the registration.
• Recent broad range of hospital clinical pharmacy experience.
• Extensive experience in mentoring and supervision of staff.
• Demonstrated ability to manage change and service development.
• Capacity to perform under pressure, to meet time constraints and determined work priorities.
• Demonstrated highly developed communication and liaison skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team in accordance with Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia (SHPA) Guidelines.
• Ability to represent the pharmacy department on committees/working groups.
• Commitment to patient-focused service delivery.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Stewardship sections of Standard 3 of the National Standards for Quality and Safety in Healthcare and Antimicrobial Stewardship Clinical Care Standard.
• Staff in patient facing roles are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in line with organisational infection prevention requirements
Desirable Criteria
• Masters in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent clinical qualification such as Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties certification)
• Experience in Antimicrobial Stewardship programs
• Demonstrate commitment to development of the profession through involvement in relevant pharmacy organisations (e.g. SHPA, PSA, ACPP, AHP) or participation in relevant groups
• Team management experience.
• Research and/or projects to improve the pharmacy service.
