Pharmacist Grade 3 -Tamworth Hospital
A position exits for a person who wishes to play a pivotal role in ensuring clinical services and medication safety for a range of rural facilities in North West NSW.
The successful candidate will be someone with a strong interest in the health of people in rural areas and someone who understands the importance of supporting rural health staff in their practice. You will be energetic, independent and adaptable. You will possess sound clinical knowledge with the skills needed to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
About the role:
The Regional Pharmacist provides clinical pharmacy services to inpatients, outpatients and their carers across a range of regional facilities in the Peel and Mehi Sectors of Hunter New England LHD in North West New South Wales. Sites range from smaller Multipurpose Health Services to district hospitals providing a range of medical, surgical and midwifery services to local residents. Based at Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital (TRRH), the position oversees regional supply and logistics and supports medication safety and quality use of medicines across these facilities. You will be developing and continuing relationships with senior nurse managers, GP VMOs and health service staff.
You will make periodic onsite visits to facilities and be involved in the roll out of medication management systems and programs such as antimicrobial stewardship.
As a senior pharmacist at TRRH, you will participate in local education and mentoring of less experienced pharmacists and technician staff as well as being involved in clinical services and participating in on call services. You will be supported by a great team, within the Pharmacy Department, locally and at District level.
