The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is the largest country health system in Australia and one of the biggest in the world, providing health services to approximately half a million people, including 45,000 Aboriginal people, over a vast two and a half million square kilometre area. The organisation comprises seven regions, with a strong network of public hospitals, health services and health centres located across rural and remote Western Australia. Our core business is the provision of quality, accessible health services to country WA residents and visitors. WACHS Pharmacy Services is comprised of a diverse workforce who support the planning, delivery and evaluation of medicines management across country WA. The workforce is a combination of WACHS-wide and regional specific roles. Led by the Director Pharmacy and the seven Regional Chief Pharmacists, WACHS Pharmacy Services is committed to excellence in medicines management across regional Western Australia. Our vision is to ensure that our patients receive the same high level and safe care as their metropolitan counterparts and is to be world leaders in the provision of regional and remote medicines management.
In this role you will perform as part of a multidisciplinary team to promote safe, rational and cost-effective drug therapy. Your practice as a Pharmacist will align to the Pharmacy Board of Australia Registration Standards, the Pharmacy Board of Australia Codes and Guidelines including the Pharmacy Code of Conduct for Registered Health Practitioners and WACHS policies and guidelines.
