Description

CLINICAL PHARMACIST AND SENIOR CLINICAL PHARMACIST POSITIONS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE IN SOUTH WEST, WESTERN AUSTRALIA AS PART OF THE WA COUNTRY HEALTH SERVICE – SOUTH WEST TEAM.  We are currently seeking Clinical Pharmacists and Senior Clinical Pharmacists (full-time, part-time or casual) for fixed-term contracts (with the potential for permanency), who are enthusiastic and motivated to join our multi-disciplinary pharmacy team.  If you are interested in pursuing a career in the beautiful South West region of Western Australia and are keen to live and enjoy a regional lifestyle with a great mix of forest, sea and farmland as well as fantastic cafés, wineries, breweries and activities available, this is an exciting opportunity for you. The WACHS – South West Pharmacy Department is a regional service for the South West of Western Australia and covers all 12 hospitals and one nursing post for the region. The main Pharmacy Department is located at Bunbury Regional Hospital with a satellite pharmacy located at Busselton Hospital. We provide medication supply and clinical services to patients across the South West region.  The Pharmacy team is a mix of pharmacy assistants, pharmacy technicians, intern pharmacists and pharmacists. We are a growing, tight- knit team from a mix of backgrounds and experiences offering a supportive and friendly environment for all staff to grow and develop. From 2023 we have further developed our training program with 3 pharmacy interns joining our team and are working to develop a pharmacist residency program, with interim approval for the WACHS SHPA Residency Program being received from SHPA.  Within Bunbury Regional Hospital we currently cover a broad range of specialty and clinical areas including the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), medical, hospital in the home (HITH), surgical, rehabilitation, maternity, paediatrics, mental health, Pre-Admission Clinic and pharmacy dispensary services. Bunbury Regional Hospital is currently undergoing a major capital project to expand the health facility to meet the complex needs of the South West population in the future. Within this transformation there are many exciting opportunities for Pharmacy to further develop clinical roles, expand our services, integrate new technologies, improve medication safety and expand leadership opportunities.  In August 2022 Bunbury Regional Hospital was awarded the Most Outstanding Regional Hospital in Australia Award by the Australian Patients Association (APA). The APA, an independent not-for-profit association dedicated to protecting the rights and interest of patients across Australia, recognised the hospital for its commitment to improving patient experiences and health outcomes. The national award is particularly significant because the nominations are made by the patients and families that WA Country Health Service (WACHS) provides care for. If you are interested in joining our team please apply through the Regional Clinical Pharmacists WACHS central pool, indicating that you wish to work at Bunbury or Busselton.
