Job Description

The key purpose of this role is to promote the quality use of medicines and medication safety within the organisation by applying knowledge, skills, professional judgement and initiative to improve patient outcomes.

In this role, your key responsibilities will be:

  • Coordinate the meetings and activities of Monash Health Medication Safety and Therapeutics Committee
  • Lead and/or participate in medication safety improvement strategies and projects across the organisation
  •  Review all medication related incidents reported and ensure they are investigated appropriately
  •  Undertake audits according to the annual schedules
  •  Assist in the generation of monthly quality reports, relevant quality improvement plans and risk registers
  • Be responsible for the overall governance of medication related and pharmacy documents
  •  Actively participate in the preparation for National Standard and Quality Health Service Standards accreditation, with a particular focus on Standard 4

Selection Criteria:

  •  Current registration as a pharmacist with AHPRA, supported by demonstrated experience in a hospital pharmacy environment
  •  Proven leadership, negotiation and decision making skills and the ability to lead change initiatives to impact operational effectiveness
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  •  Ability to work effectively in interprofessional teams
  •  Clinical educator and/or supervision training, skills and experience
