An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Quality and Safety Lead pharmacist to join the Pharmacy team at Northern Health.

The Team Leader (Quality and Safety) has responsibility for the organisation, implementation and supervision of clinical pharmacy services for the Quality and Safety Directorate. Through clinical expertise have governance responsibilities for the service including ensuring the competency, credentialing, supervision and professional development of their team. They will have a leading role in ensuring excellence in client care, evidence-based practice, service improvement and risk management.

The Senior Clinician will work closely with the Director of Pharmacy to monitor, evaluate and develop their service area and supervise the performance of their team. They will work collaboratively with the Pharmacy Department to achieve the strategic outcomes of the Department. The senior clinician also has a key role in the student program and for driving research and innovation. They will ensure they and other ward pharmacists conduct pharmaceutical review activities in accordance with department requirements, SHPA standards of practice, accreditation and legislative requirements.

In the first instance this role is a full time position at 80 hours per fortnight.

Selection Criteria:

Desirable: Post Graduate Qualification in Clinical Area, Management or progressing towards this

Essential: Knowledge and understanding of all relevant aspects of pharmacy services and a demonstrated ability to practice in accordance with SHPA guidelines and National standards
