About the role
Applications are now open for a suitably qualified applicant, looking for full-time work to join the supportive Pharmacy team at Eastern Health and work within the dynamic, specialised area of Pharmacy Aseptic Services. The Box Hill Hospital Pharmacy Aseptic Services Support Technician works under the supervision of the Box Hill Hospital Senior Aseptic Services Pharmacist and is responsible for assisting in the provision and review of pharmacy aseptic services. The position will assist with dispensing of prescriptions, order entry, PBS claiming and preparation of compounded pharmaceuticals and participate in pharmacy inventory management, distribution, imprest and other support services, as required.

Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role you should possess:

  • Completed a Certificate 3 in Health (Hospital Pharmacy Technician)
  • Completed a Certificate 4 in Health (Hospital Pharmacy Technician) OR equivalent qualification awarded by a registered training organisation or as approved by the Pharmacy Board of Australia (e.g. Peter MacCallum chemotherapy preparation course)
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • The ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
  • An interest in aseptic manufacturing
  • Aseptic manufacturing skills including in the Laminar Air Flow (LAF) and Cytotoxic (Downflow) setting

Other skills that are desirable, but not essential, include:

  • Experience in supervision, training, mentoring of other Pharmacy Technicians
  • Experience with Merlin software for dispensing and stock management
