Pharmacist Grade 1 – Rotational – Dandenong Hospital – Fixed Term

The Monash Health Pharmacy Department is seeking an outstanding Pharmacist to further develop their pharmacy skills and career within the supported environment of the Monash Health network.

About the Role

The Dandenong Hospital Pharmacy Department provides core pharmacy services to over 500 beds comprising: Emergency Services, Intensive care, General Medicine, Coronary Care, General Surgery, Oncology/Sterile Services, Orthopaedics, Vascular, Colorectal, Gastro-Med, Paediatrics, Maternity, Neonatal services, Plastics, ENT, Hospital in the Home, Refugee services, Mental Health, Rehabilitation, Geriatric evaluation and management.

The key purpose of this role is to:

  • Work effectively in a pharmacy team providing pharmacy services in a variety of settings
  • Provide medicines and medication advice safely and professionally to a variety of clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pharmacy services in a safe and professional manner to Dandenong Hospital patients, clients and carers.
  • Contribute to the education of the pharmacy teams and other health professionals within the organisation.
  • Contribute to research at the Dandenong Hospital

About You

Essential:

  • Current registration as a pharmacist with AHPRA
  • Previous experience in a hospital environment
  • Established clinical pharmacy practice skills and experience
  • Ability to work effectively in interprofessional teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to continued professional development and education
  • Has a positive “can-do” attitude and displays initiative and reliability

Desirable:

  • Relevant post graduate qualifications (completed or in progress)
  • Advanced Pharmacy Practice Stage 1 or 2 (Consolidated) credentialed (completed or in progress/intended)
  • Clinical educator and/or supervision training, skills and experience
  • Demonstrated interest in research
