The primary role of ongoing Grade 2 Clinical Pharmacist position is to support NHW’s organisational goals, by providing leadership for medication safety and antimicrobial stewardship for North East Health Wangaratta, recognising that the incumbent displays specialisation and excellence in his or her practice skills and is required to apply a level of performance worthy of additional remuneration. This role provides education and in-services to nursing and other NHW staff, in addition to supervising pharmacy students and interns.
This specific role involves being the Medication Safety pharmacist and the Antimicrobial Stewardship pharmacist for the organisation, primarily to provide leadership for medication safety across North East Health, especially in relation to the Australian Commission of Safety and Quality in Healthcare Standard 4 – Medication Safety, ensuring as best as possible compliance with accreditation requirements, including within the operating theatres. and providing leadership for antimicrobial stewardship across North East Health, especially in relation to the Australian Commission of Safety and Quality in Healthcare Standard 3.154 and 3.16 – antimicrobial stewardship, ensuring as best as possible compliance with accreditation requirements.
- Ability to comply with the “Behavioural Outcomes” for this role.
- Initiative and problem solving skills and excellent communication skills
- Previous hospital and clinical pharmacy experience.
- Current registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- A current National Police Check.
- A current Working with Children Check.
- Post-graduate pharmacy qualifications
- Experience in accreditation standards relating to Standard 4 – Medication Safety and 3.15 and 3.16 – Antimicrobial Stewardship
