We are currently seeking Locum Clinical Pharmacists who are enthusiastic and motivated to join our multi-disciplinary pharmacy team for periods of at least 4 weeks as soon as possible. If you have a passion for Aboriginal health and delivering high quality clinical pharmacy services this is an exciting opportunity for you. The health setting in the Northern Territory offers unique and diverse opportunities as well as clinical presentations like no other in Australia. The Top End of the Northern Territory allows you the opportunity to enjoy a tropical lifestyle with plenty of outdoor adventure on hand.

Pharmacy Team

The pharmacy department is modern and progressive spanning across two campuses, with a team of 40 pharmacists, 27 pharmacy technicians, and 4 intern pharmacists. We have a strong focus on workforce culture and commitment to professional development.

Services provided include:

  • Ward based clinical and drug information services
  • In-patient and out-patient dispensing
  • Medication Safety and AMS

Hours of work are 8am – 4:21pm.

Royal Darwin and Palmerston Regional Hospitals

Royal Darwin Hospital (RDH) is a fully accredited tertiary teaching hospital and the largest hospital in the Northern Territory with over 400 beds. In addition to standard medical, surgical and paediatric services, specialty areas include;

  • Aboriginal health
  • Renal medicine
  • Critical care units (both adult and neonatal)
  • Tropical diseases
  • Mental health services
  • Hyperbaric medicine

 

The Palmerston Regional Hospital (PRH) is a Level 3 Hospital. Phase 1 is a 116 bed facility with future capacity to expand. Current services delivered at PRH include;

  • Emergency Care
  • Rehabilitation
  • Geriatric
  • Medical Ward
  • Day Surgery
  • Maternity – out patient
  • Outpatient

Department of Health has a Smoke Free Policy. Staff are not permitted to smoke anywhere on Departmental premises, facilities or vehicle nor whilst working off-site.
