Job Description

The key responsibilities are to:
Provide pharmaceutical care to haematology/oncology ambulatory patients through collaboration with oncologists, haematologists, nurses, Pharmacy and hospital staff;
Provide a clinical pharmacy service to inpatients in accordance with the Austin Health Guidelines for the Practice of Clinical Pharmacy

Selection Criteria:

1. Registered as a pharmacist with Australian Health Practitioners Registration Authority (AHPRA)
2. Relevant post graduate qualification
3. A minimum of 2 years of hospital pharmacist experience since registration
4. Have recognised, well developed clinical pharmacy knowledge and skills
5. Previous experience supporting a haematology/medical oncology service in inpatient and/or outpatient setting
6. Maintains competency in haematology/oncology pharmacotherapy
7. Demonstrates commitment to continuing professional development
8. Able to work in a multidisciplinary team environment

Austin Health Pharmacy Department provides comprehensive high quality pharmaceutical care to Austin Health patients and supports other members of the healthcare team in all aspects of medicines management. The Department consists of over 120 full time equivalent staff over 3 campuses within Austin Health. The team consists of pharmacists and technical and support personnel who work together to ensure patients receive the highest quality care possible.
