What You Will Be Doing

• Develop the Gastroenterology pharmacy service by expanding the scope of current practice and gaining expert knowledge in Gastroenterology medicine
• Train and mentor rotational pharmacists to build pharmacy team capacity to provide Gastroenterology services
• Participate on ward rounds and at multi-disciplinary meetings to promote safe, effective and cost-efficient medication use
• Participate in quality improvement and education initiatives

What You Need

We anticipate you will have:
Essential Criteria
• Full Pharmacy Board of Australia (AHPRA) registration with no restrictions to the scope of practice, or appropriate pharmaceutical qualification eligible for the registration.
• Recent broad range of hospital clinical pharmacy experience.
• Demonstrated adequate level of clinical knowledge of current drug usage, interactions and counselling.
• Commitment to patient-focused service delivery.
• Demonstrated highly developed communication and liaison skills.
• Demonstrated ability to support and mentor staff.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
• Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement processes and service development.
• Staff in patient facing roles are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in line with organisational infection prevention requirements.

Desirable Criteria:
• Previous experience in Gastroenterology including working in IBD clinics.
• Experience with using electronic medication management, preferably Cerner trained.
• Relevant or working towards pharmacy postgraduate qualifications.
