The emergency department at the Northern Hospital is the busiest in the state, providing a broad and varied range of presentations, including paediatrics, to keep each day different. The specialty medicine ward includes respiratory medicine, neurology, stroke, infectious diseases and general medicine, an excellent learning environment for those wishing to enhance their clinical knowledge in these fields.

This is an excellent opportunity for a clinical pharmacist to develop and implement service improvement projects through engaging key stakeholders, performing an integral role in both the emergency department and specialty and general medicine teams. This position requires the provision of high quality, evidence-based pharmacy services and is ideal for those with an interest in supporting the community – hospital interface, facilitating the safe transfer of care between sectors.

In the first instance this role is a full-time position at 80 hours per fortnight, from 11am to 8pm Monday-Friday, perfect for those where a later start suits their work-life balance. Job share will be considered for the right candidate. Participation in weekend, on-call and public holiday work is an additional requirement of the position
