What you will be doing in this role
As the Chief Pharmacist, you will be responsible for leading the Pharmacy Service for the San, including clinical, oncology, dispensary and retail services. You will have oversight for clinical excellence, financial governance, as well as compliance with legislation, accreditation, and industry standards.

Our busy pharmacy service team, who dispense over 3,500 scripts per week, are highly experienced and collaborative. They work extremely closely together to ensure high quality clinical standards and world class care. The team of 60+ includes clinicians, technicians and assistants, who work closely with the broader hospital teams. Your role will be to lead and support the team leaders of each service so they can continue to deliver exceptional outcomes.

As NSW’s largest private hospital, we pride ourselves on our state-of-the-art facilities. An example of this is our recently installed pharmacy dispense robot that underpins our dispensing and stock management processes.

Who we’re looking for

  • You'll have proven leadership experience in a similar position within a private hospital setting.
  • You’ll have a strong understanding of pharmacy services for the private healthcare sector including PBS claiming, funding & eligibility criteria and high-cost drug applications
  • You’ll have demonstrated experience successfully utilising your strong business acumen
  • You'll be experienced in managing complex services, across multidisciplinary teams.
  • You’ll be a Registered Pharmacist authorised to practice by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • You’ll be a motivated and enthusiastic person with a passion for pharmacy and its importance in the healthcare sector
  • You’ll be collaborative, adaptable, and able to work independently and in a team; and
  • You’ll be friendly, detail-orientated and be dedicated to Adventist Healthcare’s everyday values of excellence and integrity.
