The Pharmacy department at Peter Mac provides a comprehensive patient-focused service, incorporating all facets of innovative clinical pharmacy practice. Specialised areas include drug information, clinical trials, palliative care, quality use of medicines and clinical education. The department has an ongoing commitment to practice-based research and offers opportunities for involvement to all staff.
We are looking to recruit 2 part-time pharmacists to work within our innovative and enthusiastic outpatient pharmacy team. These positions will provide outpatient pharmacy services during our periods of highest activity to support our expanding service.
These positions are available as a 12 month fixed term contract due to maternity leave cover requirements within the pharmacy department.
The successful applicants will be required to work 4 hours each day between the hours of 10:30am and 3:30pm.
Pharmacists have the opportunity to contribute to excellence in medicines management across all of the outpatient cancer specialties encompassing haematology, medical oncology, radiation oncology and surgical oncology. Other opportunities may include the development of directed projects and involvement in ongoing educational programs along with the opportunity to work within other areas of the pharmacy department as required.
You should have a broad background in hospital or clinical pharmacy. Pharmacists with experience in providing services to patients with cancer and use of the Merlin dispensing system are preferred. You must be registered, or be eligible for registration, with AHPRA, and post graduate qualifications and experience in pharmacy practice research are highly desirable.
